Punta del Este is today a privileged place for the plastic arts
Never like in recent years and in the territory of Punta del Este, suitable during the summer for artistic exhibitions, Uruguayans and Argentines have invested so many and such great investments in art.
To begin, near the beaches of Manantiales, MACA, the Atchugarry Museum of Contemporary Art, will open on Saturday the doors of the formidable building that evokes the shape of a whale and bears the signature of Carlos Ott, famous for his design of the Opera from Bastilla and the Laguna del Sauce Airport in Punta del Este. The Atchugarry Foundation will present the exhibition "Christo & Jeanne-Claude in Uruguay". The retrospective of the geniuses of Land Art who have just surprised the world by enveloping the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, arrives for the first time in South America at the hands of his nephew.
The Atchugarry Foundation runs a social project to help children and artists, pays for artistic activities and admission is free. It is intended that, to the recitals and exhibitions, people of all socioeconomic levels can attend.
